Babybond Anomaly Scan: 19 to 24 weeks

Private ultrasound anomaly scan (sometimes called detailed anatomy scan). Babybond’s anomaly scan is performed between 19 and 24 weeks gestation. This scan allows for a highly trained eye to assess the development of a baby in fine detail. During the examination the Sonographer will evaluate the growth of the baby against the expected gestational age and look at such anatomical structures as the head, chest, heart, stomach, kidneys and limbs using ultrasound.

The examination will be fully discussed with the expectant parents and they are invited to ask any questions they may have during the examination.

Contact details for your GP/midwife are taken at point of booking to ensure a seamless continuity of care between Babybond and your Healthcare Professional. A full detailed report will be generated for all anatomy scans for you to include in your medical notes.

The anatomy scan is ideal for those parents looking for reassurance or as a secondary option when an earlier screening test has not been performed. It is also another opportunity to assess the baby’s well being when an elevated risk has been recorded during an NT test, and an invasive procedure is not your preferred route.
